Ideal Protein’s Medical Advisory Board has been assembled as a mean to assist physicians with the patient-related health and economic consequences of the obesity epidemic. The Medical Advisory Board provides perspective and guidance to front line healthcare practitioners on current trends and challenges with respect to overweight and obesity. The Medical Advisory Board includes practitioners from a range of medical specialties including gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology and pharmacology.

Dr. Tran Tien Chanh

Dr. Chanh was born October 2, 1958 in Vietnam. He arrived in France in October 1968. He studied high school at the Lycée Emmanuel Mounier, in Châtenay-Malabry near Paris. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, from Cochin Hospital in Port Royal, and from René Descarte University in Paris V.; he completed his thesis in April 1985, and was awarded a bronze medal for his dissertation on gastroenterology.

Douglas W Rothrock, MD

Dr. Rothrock is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Internal Medicine, and is Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Rothrock co-owns Prescott Cardiology, which he established in 1998, and he co-owns The Heart Shop, which is also in Prescott. Additionally, he serves as the Ideal Protein of America® Chief Medical Advisor.

Michael P Ciell, R.Ph.

Michael Ciell is a 1989 Honors graduate from the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy, a registered pharmacist, and is also certified in geriatric pharmacy. He served as a community pharmacist for eleven years during which time he developed a keen interest in the pathophysiology of chronic diseases. In 2000 he became chief pharmacist for “ECKERD-ON-CALL” one of the largest 1-800 free drug information services in the country and supervised 4 pharmacists and 26 pharmacy technicians.

Ann K Kuenker, DO

Dr. Kuenker is board certified in family practice and has been practicing in the Traverse City, Michigan area for nearly 30 years. She earned her BS degree from the University of Michigan and medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her family practice residency was completed at the Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center.

Dr. Rai is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Prevea Health, a physician-led multispecialty group founded 20 years ago as a 50/50 partnership between physicians and two partnering Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) hospitals in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Franklin M Douglis, MD, ENT, Otolaryngology & Sleep Medicine

Dr. Douglis attended Brown University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree with honors in Human Biology. He received his M.D. from the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore, Maryland and, after a Rotating Surgical Residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, he completed his Residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

Karen Riley, RPh, BSc. Phm, PharmD, Pharmacy

Dr. Riley is currently the Professional Pharmacy Services Consultant for C.O.P Laboratories Inc., a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Pharmacy Consultant and a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy Pharm D and Masters of MTM programs. She is a member of the Ontario College of Pharmacists Council and Ministry of Health Pharmacy Council. She is the pharmacist consultant and developer of the Hogan Pharmacy Ideal Protein program that started in 2012 and still acts as a consultant for that program.
