Caribbean Broiled Turkey

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 lbs turkey breast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 7 cups green onions
  • 3 tbsp garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tsp lime peel, zested
  • 2 tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • sea salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. In a food processor or blender, purée green onions, garlic, hot pepper sauce, olive oil, pepper, salt, lime juice, lime zest and soy sauce.
  2. Puree will be used to fill and baste turkey pieces.
  3. Cut turkey into 1/2” slices.
  4. Make an incision in turkey pieces and fill with ½ of purée.

    To Broil:

  5. Place turkey pieces on greased broiler pan.
  6. Broil 6 minutes.
  7. Turnover.
  8. Baste with purée and return to broiler for approximately 5 minutes.
  9. Baste with purée again and broil for an additional 4 to 5 minutes until meat reaches 170 degrees on meat thermometer.
